  • Another noob lands!

Hi everyone, very pleased to meet you all

Novice gardener but have been bitten by the bug big time - in the process of having my back garden fenced, tree stumps pulled out and then planning 3 no dig beds in a u shape around the perimeter - ha! that makes it sound huge, its not. Garden in awful state - old lawn, weeds, lleylandi stumps - so anything will be an improvement. Will be container growing this year while I wait for the no bed thing to work its magic on the soil and so far have sown lots of seeds which are growing quite happily on my windowsills. HOWEVER - and yes, you can roll your eyes at this part - I put 7 diff types in in a specific order and because I knew the order they marched across the windowsill I didn't bother labelling the seeds. Cue ex husband coming in to do some patching of the plasterwork and wouldn't you know it, he moved all trays off windowsill, shuffled them up good and proper and now I have no idea which set of seeds is which!!!!! Now there's a noob gardener for you LOL. Any ideas how I identify what seedling is which - I planted toms, peppers, purple sprouting brocc, parsley, rocket and coriander. Thank heaven I didn't get all my seeds in because I have another 8 things to start off yet.

Anyway, that's my rambling first post, have a great easter everyone xx

Hi all of my packets of seeds have a little pic of the seedling. I spose to make sure you recognise it an don't pull it up thinking it's a weed! Maybe yours are the same? Just got to wait til they pop up then you might know more.

I guess that will be the only year you make that mistake and I make a mental note not to do the same! The trouble comes when we have the info in our heads and not on paper!

good luck and hope you get them identified although you could argue it's more fun this way... like when I was a student and used to buy tins of food with labels off, you never knew what was for dinner!
