Hi Kev and welcome to the Forum!
Can I ask you a question that you've raised indirectly? There was an MGA, MGB (had one) MGC, and the MGF. But was there an MGD or MGE.
I know this is a Gardening Forum but, what the heck!!

                  Hello from me.

Used to be a regular in Swindon - nice bike shop! And any excuse for a ride out from Oxford via the Downs.

Welcome from another nutter. Hard to get away from us these days.
As for MG's wel doesn't matter what letter comes after them, they are definately too low built for where I live. They don't have a 4x4 one yet do they?
