  • What's eating my basil seedlings?

    Hi
Im growing various seedlings on a windowsill in a room we use to store stuff
Most are fine, except the basil seedlings disappeared one by one before the true leaves came out
Also, one Sunflower seedling looks its had a small nibble on one side of stem
I have previously seen some tiny black flies in there, but can't see any now
Any ideas what it could be?
    Thanks

Is it indoors? In your house? If that's the case probably not slugs or snails......

    I would guess at Mice.

If the pots weren’t washed or if the compost came from outside a tiny snail could be about, there’s loads of them this year, the winter was so mild for them all to survive. Check all the undersides of the trays & pots or have a look during the night you might see it.

          Thanks for your replies.
I can't see any snail trails, and it seems so strange that nothing else was eaten!
