    Red Veined Sorrel ?

    Hello all

    Would you kindly confirm I have red veined sorrel growing wild amongst chervil , Lovage and weeds , As I have found a recipe

        Yep does look like it. If you taste a little bit of the leaf it should have a lemony tang.

        Spit it out if it doesn't.

            I hope you enjoy eating it, cause you'll have it around for some time! I can't get rid of it out of my garden lol I'm hoping that turning my little back garden patch into no dig will help, but it's even popping up in pots that only have fresh compost in it - god knows how

              Sorrel will kick up a flower spike and will produce a load of seeds so you'll have it coming up all over the place

                I don't think i like the taste and not too sure I'm going to keep it. Might try one final recipe before i bin it

                  A tip, the older the leaves the more pungent the taste, younger leaves have less 'bite' and flavour. I don't like the FS flavour on it's own but I like it paired with fish and cheesy stuff. Can give nutrients back to the soil if you toss it back there too.
