    Hello
    I have no garden but would like to grow some herbs as I love to cook. Can someone recommend a) what to grow and b) what type of growing medium would I need. Very new to this site and gardening but really enjoying reading all your tips and advise

    The advice is always ... to grow what you enjoy eating.

    In my back garden I have sage, thyme, rosemary, chives and coriander. They do well in pots of multi-purpose compost, or in sunny ground.

      Basil in pots of multipurpose compost for the windowsill! Chives are ok for this treatment as well.
      Most herbs have originated in Mediteranean countries so thrive on dry arid sunny conditions. Mints are an exception........they like moist damp conditions and a bit of shade!
