  • Chicory ....

I have a chicory in my herb pot and have no idea how to pick it or what part is edible!! It's really needing to be put into a different container as it over-taking the herb pot.

Any tips are fully appreciated ... i have seen some tasty recipes would like to try out!!

My book says you can't cut them until October, or at least they're not ready until then.
Never grown it myself though so can't advise.

I think it depends on what sort of chicory it is. I tried growing some last year and failed miserably, will try again this year. You can lightly steam it , it can be eaten raw in salads but can taste bitter.
