  • Wrong WWOOF link?

I loved the article in the magazing about wwoofing. I duly went to the website listed under "Further information", and clicked on the link for Italy. It took me to Italy's Wwoof website which has in bold red on the front page:

Hello and Welcome. You have reached WWOOF Italy via a link from wwoofinternational.org.
    WWOOFInternational.org
    - is not an official WWOOF site
    - is not endorsed by most WWOOF groups

Please be aware that wwoofinternational.org is not representing WWOOF in any official way, its only purpose is to further the interests of its founders and it is a deceitful travesty of WWOOF principles.

It then directs you to wwoof.org rather than the website in the magazine (which is wwoofinternational.org).

    Anyone know what's going on?

Phew. I did two searches before I posted, but I was convinced it was old news and discussed to bits in the last few days and I'd just missed it.

        Hi Caro,

Thanks for flagging that up. I've just visited the WWOOF website and couldn't spot any problems with the Italy link. However, if you're planning an Italian holiday with WWOOF and have questions, you'll find the charity's contact details on its website.

Hi Sara, thanks for looking into it. It all works fine, and the links work, but the Italian Wwoof website seems to object to the wwoofinternational.org site for some reason, and suggests wwoof.org. The Italy front page is slightly different, depending on which wwoof website you link to it from.

Whichever, I'm so glad GYO mentioned the organisation, I'm going to start working on my OH to see if we can volunteer!

          Thanks
          Caro
