  • Very disappointed to miss out again!

Do the people behind the magazine realise that Wilkinsons have barely set foot in Scotland?
There is one near glasgow and another close to the border at castle douglas so us east coasters (and northerners) again are missing out on a freebie.

I suppose the editors have to give what is offered, from whom it is offered. It must be frustrating though.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

i shouldn't worry too much, our local wilko's didn't have any tom food in stock when I went there and they didn't even stock the watering can in the last issue, so all in all not really holding out for the new offer!

Wilkies not reached the Isle of Wight either, so I felt disappointed too.

I wish they'd go back to putting packets of seeds on the magazines. I live in the Highlands of Scotland so no Wikies here. Tempted to send the vouchers to my Dad and get him to bring the stuff up next time he visits.

Ditto - excpet I'm Wilko-less in Aberdeen. I'm so fed up that I've started posting mine down to relatives in Manchester and they'll either keep or post up items, depending on weight. They got the secateurs for me yesterday!

Thing is, why should we have to go through that rigmarole - even if it's a postage stamp, it's no longer free!

"Free Wilko secateurs for every reader".

We have a large Wilko's here, went in with my voucher and they didn't have the secateurs, but did have "pruners" which looked exactly the same and the same retail price.

Was told by the staff that the coupon wasn't valid for these and they had never had any of the ones you could get with the voucher.

Off to another store a bit further from home, same story.

What good is promising something free to readers if they can't actually get it? And isn't it rather misleading for the magazine to have on the front cover "Free secateurs for every reader" when in fact it's not the case?

                I could'nt agree more.
We are in the same situation here.
Only time we get the freebies is when the seeds are given free WITH the mag, we can never avail of any free gifts.
The mag is sold here but there is never any provision for us irish buyers.

Hi, yes I've had the same problem trying to get the secateurs. I've been to two local stores (sorry you Scots with no Wilkco over the border!) and they are both out of stock. I couldn't have any different ones (paying extra) because the coupon wasn't valid for that. They aren't sure whether they would get any more in. I was told "well it is subject to availability". I don't want to travel any further otherwise it's defeating the object of something for free.

I haven't had any problems in the past though, I've had tomato food, a watering can and gardening gloves.

How odd. They've got secateurs in Manchester. Maybe you got a Jobsworth?

My three nearest Wilko stores are Bishop's Stortford, Chelmsford and Colchester - all an hour away! No offence, but I'm not going to drive an hour to get a free watering can or pair of secateurs that I don't need. I don't wish to sound ungrateful though.

That said, if anyone wants my vouchers, feel free to PM me so they don't go to waste!

Seems to me that the problem is with Wilkinson's, not GYO! If Wilko's offer a promotion for GYO to run in the magazine, they aren't going to turn it down are they? If the promotion then has glitches, that is down to Wilko giving GYO the wrong information, or, giving the stores insufficient info to run it properly.

Instead of complaining that you don't have a store nearby, why not suggest who you'd like to see offers from in future? Whichever store/chain they choose, there will be some places that don't have one nearby.

Incidentally, I live in the middle of the country, and I have no Wilko's in my town either
