  • new wormery

    Hi

    Can anybody help with this?

I'm really new to all this self sufficiency stuff. I've just bought a new wormery and I'm really not sure its working.

I cant see any worms in there at the moment and the food I'm leaving is not being attacked.

It has only been there about 5 days?

I have never used a wormery in case they all decide to move into my bedroom one night. But i understand you will need to keep them frost free. I might not be the best time of year.
My wormery is in the soil.

early days yet, takes at least 2 weeks for a wormery to start becoming established.
the food needs to break down before the worms can consume it, so don't worry yet !

I think he needs to put some actual worms in it though.

              a) did it come with worms?
              b) it's now winter: you won't see much activity in the winter anyway
