This seems a little unfair, why do twitter followers get the option of pressies while the rest of us don't. Are they more worthwhile?

I don't do twitting or bookfarcing, there's no one I'm keen enough on to need to know their daily movements.

Come on GYO, open it up to all.... don't be mean. I have some lovely carved pumpkins and more to come.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Agreed Mikey. There are a lot more followers of GYO on this Forum than there are on twitface

        Hi Everyone,

We run a lot of our competitions on twitter because the edit team has direct control over that account. We can monitor anything we set up in one timeline, which is very handy as we are a small team. Anything set up on the forum needs the involvement of the web team as well, so it is more difficult to run comps with short turnaround times.

We really don't want you to feel like anybody is more valued than anybody else, it simply comes down to us not having as much of a free rein on the forum and also trying to work within our time constraints.

        We hope you understand.

          Hi Laura,

I read it but it didn't make any sense to me at all, for a relative non techie, timelines control etc sorry I don't understand.

Surely if you posted a thread which said pumpkin competition, no chatting!!! and a cut off point we could manage to adhere to it. We have a successful virtual veg competition which I don;t believe descends into chaos.

Most of us are simple gardening folk who love this forum and who subscribe to the magazine on many levels. I just don't understand a word of what you said in your reply even though I do appreciate you taking the time to do so.

I personally think we should have a competition just for the vine, if twitter is having a competition just for them. There doesn't have to be a prize we are happy to enter with nothing but the kudos of winning as reward if that is all that is on offer.

Do you think you could judge a vine competition aswell?

Yep,I agree Even though I admit to not "doing" trick or treat,I do like to see peoples carved pumpkins, some are so skilfully done that they fall into being works of art in their own right

Another one here agreeing with you, and anyway if the comps only for twitter followers why post it here on the vine, it just makes us none twitter folks feel left out.

I'll hollow out the big one tonight and we'll start carving in the morning.
