Got mine also today - good issue, lots in it and free seeds as well. Also some fine tips from three of our grapes!

I wouldn't mind - but I still have a whole packet of "Bolthardy" from the last time GYO gave it away (July 2008)...

Still, looking forward to reading the mag, though!

            I don't even like Beetroot!!!

I think that not only did I receive some in July but wasn't there was a triple pack containing Bolthardy in Feb?

My family love it so no doubt they'll get used up. Bolthardy are very easy to grow....I sow quite a few times in a season. They work well as a catch crop.

Not sure if its the magazine that chooses the seeds of the seed supplier who decided what they can gave.

              Be interesting to find out...

well done for winning the voucher. never won anything in my life. I wonder about the seeds as it saves money all round and I am sure that all mags give the same ones away. I grow for a few family and friends so free seeds for them to use is a bonus.(must cost some one somewhere as I supply plants and for free) It was said that tommies are the british favourite so in order to get the un initiated to buy the mag lets offer tommie seeds for free and make them easy to grow so they are hooked. Like as is said bolthardy beetroot, I like cylindra, In these hard times you cannot blame the mags as after all they are are here to make a living the same as us all. They have a fun way of earning that living though. enjoy reading the mags and mine is saved for tomorrow morning while the oh sleeps. oh deep deep deep joy. looking forward to it already. and the mags tee hee.

Much as I do appreciate the seeds, just one pack of something different that I wouldn't usually buy would be nice to try! Although I suppose you can't really be picky!

Still can't find it in our supermarket! I shall try the beetroot seed tho it would be nice if we could get new seeds to trial instead of common varieties.

I assume the subscribers (like me) get their copies a bit earlier than the shops - that's usually how it works

Bought my first copy yesterday. Being on the forum, I thought I ought to try the mag. I don't like beetroot, so the free seeds aren't much use, but I like the mag. The article on telling veg. seedliongs from weed seedlings could be useful in a few weeks, since I've just sowed verious seeds (possibly a bit early, in view of the hard frosts, but they were hardy varieties which are supposed to be sowable now, e.g. leek and parsnip).
