  • Vax Vaccum

Just on three years ago SWMBO bought a Vax because it was small and light.

Last Wednesday it started sparking and gave up the ghost. It came with a 6 year guarantee but for less than a £100 I didn't expect much in the way of help.

Still nothing ventured etc I gave their customer services a ring, how wrong could I be.

Yes sir says the lady, can I have your post code and could you confirm your house number and name please. Yes sir your machine is still under warrantee, I have sent you an e-mail would you open the attachment, print off the form and return it to us.

Today knock at door ................ one new Vax vacuum. That is hard to beat service and the guarantee is transferred to the new machine.

That is great service, and 6 years guarantee is a very brave thing to offer on an electrical machine. We seem to get through vacs like nobodies business so I will be looking closely into a Vax next time.

That's really good service. My Dyson's five year guarantee ran out at the end of 2013. It is working but definitely not as well as it once did. I was offered a service which would include all parts for £79 or a discount on a new one. I declined the offer.

I have got a similar vax, under £100 quid (6 year guarantee) a few years ago. Mine stopped working last year just stopped dead in mid-vac and I rang the customer service line too, and explained the problem. The helpful guy on the 'phone told me what the problem most likely was, (filters) and that it would have cut out to prevent overheating. I'd only ever cleaned one and there's another that needs cleaning about every 6 months. He told me to ring him back if cleaning it didn't work. It worked. It still works like a new machine and is great for dog hair.

Trouble is SWMBO's been running round vacuuming everywhere , I don't know where to sit to avoid being sucked into the machine.

Still she is a very happy bunny.
