  • Supermarket tom & chilli plants?

Have had a bit of a disaster this year with our seed compost, used sieved new horizon peat free vegetable compost - which last year was good and this year is like chipped bark!

So all my chilli and tomato seedlings have basically been in stasis and have hardly grown.

Has anyone seen any named varieties of tomato and chilli plants n places lke Lidl or B&Q or supermarkets? Thanks. )

B&Q had named toms but only rubbish varieties, didn't notice any chillies in ours though

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Hi Manda, ours has chilies and toms and they were 6 for a fiver. The tom varieties were a bit naff with Alicante, gardeners deligh being the main but there were a few san marzano too in there.

You're not the only one. Near Jonnyt I suppose but we don't know where that is either!
Our garden centres generally have a good range of plants, have you tried yours, or is that a silly question.

I've had a quick look, but not gonna pay silly prices for ordinary varieties. Did see that Lidl have some veg plants on sale soon.
