  • Petrol strimmer advice

    Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good petrol strimmer please?

It needs to be tough enough for large area's of grass, nettles etc but not too heavy. Every one that I have seen would die after one use or kill my back due to the weight!

    Thank, Mandy

I have the 4 stroke Honda .... I find it much better than Stihl .... No need to mix oil with petrol, and mine starts 1st time every time .... its also a lot quieter

buy a proper harness and it's as light as a feather

I can't comment on the Honda machine as I haven't usedit but I have a commercial grade Stihl which even although it is two stroke is a super machine.I agree with dimabout the harness

I use a Honda bush-cutter, in a word, fantastic. As already said a dream to start and work and nothing much seems to faze it Not too heavy but if you are only cutting grass the slightly lighter grass-cutter might be more suitable. The one I use has a D handle rather than the cow horn type which I find much more tiring to use and far less nimble around and under trees/bushes. A good harness also really helps to distribute weight. I think they are quite pricey though.
