  • Electric overblanket or throw

Last year I bought an electric underblanket, it was absolutely wonderful and I only wished I bought one years ago. I'm putting it back on the bed tonight, as I don't need the heating on yet in the bedroom, but getting into a warm bed feels really comforting.

This year I think I might buy an electric overblanket or throw as well, so that I can use it on the sofa and/or on top of the bed. They apparently heat up within minutes, unlike the underblanket.

    Anyone got one?

This will be our third winter with our electric underblanket and like you we wish we'd bought one years back. Love getting into a nice warm bed but I did feel a bit mean relegating Walter hottle bottle to the cupboard under the stairs

I've seen a heated throw in Argos that looks handy to use on the sofa but if i feel that cold I'd have the heating on instead.
    Location....East Midlands.

I already have the heating on in the sitting room, the electric throw would be for extra warmth in the colder months, when you sometimes need that bit extra, to feel cosy.

A regular throw is not something I need or want, but an electric throw sounds like it gives instant comfort. So would be great to wrap up in when back from the lottie or after a walk in the cold winter months. I always keep my place nice and warm, but I suppose it's the feeling of giving yourself a little luxury that appeals.

Some folk turn to chocolate for comfort, I turn to warmth.

Sorry, not for me. I'm probably old-fashioned, but I will stick with my hockle bockle, and a good duvet.

A hockle bockle has never done it for me, but when it gets really cold I put on a second duvet. Although as I have storage heaters it can get a bit warm at night, which means I'm forced to throw off the 2nd duvet!

Today I also put on my fleece underblanket, which goes on top of the heated blanket. Ummm cosy. I don't wear anything in bed though, so it needs to be nice and warm as I get in.

None so strange as folk. I would just hate to get into a warm bed. I so love the chill of fresh sheets. Doesn't take me long to warm them up when I then look for a cold bit to wriggle my feet in.

At the moment I like my body all swaddled up in the duvet with a hottie bottie, but with one leg slung out to cool.

In the winter I'll be in fleecy jarmas, fleecy dressing gown, with bed socks and 2 hottie botties. Mr TS is very selfish & doesn't let me warm my feet on his back

Nowt so strange as folk, your right there. Wriggling around to find a cold bit, sounds like torture to me.

In fact that the one thing wrong with my underblanket, is it's a double for a double bed. But I should have bought a king size, as the whole mattress is not covered. Fortunately I'm only petite, so my feet don't have to enter the uncovered bit of the mattress.

don't get me wrong. When we lived in London - well before central heating and double glazing I had just given birth to our third child and was allowed downstairs for a while. My OH had secretly bought an underblanket and by the time I had plodded back upstairs and sneaked back intio bed he had performed majic. It was like all christmasses rolled into one. Pure heaven.
