Right..we've been thinking of getting a new camera, but don't really have a lot of money to spare, actually none, but noticed that Asda have one reduced from £150 to £75.
I shall try to link info up....Catalogue number: 619-838

At the mo we have a "finepix A210" 3.2 megapixels~can anyone in the know let us know if this would be much better that the one we've got?

O.K...you may need to go onto Asdas homepage & look up!!(sorry!)It's a Nikon & I think 8.1 megapixels.

well 3.2 is ok , i would try to get a 5 megapixel if you can stretch to it, to be honest i only use the camera on my phone, cos i have the sony erikkson cybershot 3.2 megapixel.takes great pics and vids, but cant zoom in all they way without losing some definition.
best camera i bought cheapo was my sons, £50 from woolies, 5 megapixel jobbie, pics and vids, better than my more expensive one.

Sorry, didn't really make it clear..the one we have is 3.2...& the one in Asda is 8.1.
We were given the 3.2 after Andi's mum decided to upgrade a couple of years ago...it's O.K for basics but not brill~would we notice a big difference with 8.1?

        YES!! a very big difference.
to get a tad technical, pixels are the little dots that make up the picture, so imagine, to make it easy, an inch square with 300 pencil dots making up the picture, then imagine 800 dots making the same picture? the more dots the clearer the picture geddit?

I'm afraid that I can't see the argos page as this happens

            Argos - www.argos.co.uk
Can you post which camera it is or the page you are looking at.

Don't concentrate on how many mega pixels the camera can shoot, I took some great shots with our old olympus 1.3. How big are you likely to want your photos to be, the size of a wall? Then you'll need lots of pixels. A4 size, then most modern digi cameras will do that okay. You'd be better considering the things like how big an optical zoom it has and what size lens it zooms to and from?

What do you want to use it for?

I've got a Canon A720 with a x6 optical zoom, its great, but there's lots of decent stuff out there - plug the Nikon model in google and/or Amazon and check out the reviews...

Ha ha ha - I should learn to read!!!

Well, I've just read the spec, and I'd buy it. I've got lots of cameras, from digital to old medium format, and this looks like it has alot of features that you would want in a compact camera. It has the manual exposure mode, which gives you a little additional control if you want it.

In fact, I'd get down there right away and get it bought.
