  • Attachments for spades/shovels/forks

My grandad recently mentioned seeing a device many years ago that clipped onto the top edge or handle of a spade, shovel or fork that would then increase the surface area to step on to drive the tool into the ground. I'm trying to get hold of one as a sort of gag gift for him.

I've been scouring and found a Dig Rig Shovel Attachment, Toolstep (previously known as Trenchfoot) and a spade attachment classed as "operational help for spades and forks". Searching for these terms should bring up the items and pictures (not sure if I should be posting direct links myself).

However, I cant seem to find anywhere to buy any of these items. The first two seem to have been discontinued or available only in the US. The latter it seems is only available for wholesale order.

Could anyone recommend a supplier of an item like this? A friend of mine did mention seeing a similar product advertised on TV a while ago, but cant recall the supplier. Equally, if I could just have the proper name for one of these things to aid my search that would be much appreciated too!

    Thanks
