Ah but with caulies there's a cabbagy undertone that out-pongs a JA in my (seldom very) humble opinion.

In our house we have the S....T word, we never refer to them by name 'cos neither of us can stand them.

Neither can I - unless thinly sliced and stir fried with sliced shallots. My Ma complained that I didn't serve boiled sprouts with Christmas dinner. 'I'm 58 Ma, I don't have to eat my sprouts!' I said. Next time we had them my way, she liked them though.

If you really want to get this show off with a bang you should serve prunes as a starter, followed by sprouts and all other green veg you can face, then finish with a nice healthy helping of rhubarb. There now don't you feel good? All your 5 fruit and veg and guaranteed weight loss too.
