            I don't mind Tennis.

I do mind the grunting though!

At least it doesn't go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on like football!

                        They even 'broke' the scoreboard.

                        Shame I missed it. Brilliant.

Great viewing though it is - and I'm an avid tennis fan though always was a useless player - it seems quite wrong to allow players to play to exhaustion and beyond as these two amazing men have done. The game could have been suspended at 40 all or even 50 all, giving time for their bodies to repair and recoup for further play today. Surely there is an argument for a cut off point? Isn't it medically indefensible to allow players to reach the levels of physical and mental trauma that Mahut and Isner reached last night?

I kind of agree with you but the doctors were all there if the players wanted them. I suspect the rules will be changed after this but at the same time I feel very honoured to have been able to witness at least part of this history in the making - something to tell my grandkids about one day (assuming my kids decide to have some)

No more so than allowing boxers to beat seven bells out of each other, or cyclists to be on the verge of collapse as they cross the line, or rowers pushing themselves to the limit along a stretch of the Thames, or the Paula Radcliffe's of the world.

It sure beats the fast serve-only games that crept into the sport not so long ago.
