  • Where is Fred?

Had to get up to go to the loo at 4.30 this morning and there was a mahoosive spider (known as Freds in our house since the children were little) in the bath. Didn't quite feel up to removing him at that unearthly hour, and I've just gone back to the bathroom and he's gone!!! Where is he lurking???

I had big one with long legs, camping out in an empty demijohn on the landing - I had to persuade him out by shaking it out of the window. He was very reluctant to leave.

Do you think Fred may be in the plughole? Or up the tap? In the overflow pipe?

We call all spiders Boris in our house after the Who's song "Boris the spider".
Yes we have some but none of which I would call massive.

I have a very large Lady spider in the garden that looooves caterpillars. I feed her most days with 1 or 2 of them. I think Jeanie met her when she came to stay!!

did someone remove it for you? I didn't think they could climb out of the bath cos the sides are too slippy.
                Eaten by the cat?

Lovely piccie Ginge. I have 'Fatty' outside my window by the computer desk. She sleeps all day, and when I put the louge light on in the evening she lies in wait for whatever unsuspecting thing will try to fly into the window. Friday was a big fat fly, Saturday was a Moth, and this morning's remains look like a Daddy long-legs YAY!

                  They're Simons in our house!

RL, yours has probably gone down the plughole, and back up the overflow pipe where it came in.

Do you have a towel or anything hanging over the side of the bath? He may well have crawled out on something like that. Otherwise he has likely gone down the plug hole and will no doubt appear out of the overflow next time you are having a bath.

No towel, and you have just put me right off having a bath, thank you.

No cat, but he looked big and strong enough to do anything he wanted to. I just wish I had caught him and put him out of the window at 4.30 this morning. I'm not exactly scared of spiders, but the thought of not knowing where he is is a bit offputting.

Loved the link Weekend Wellies, but it wouldn't do for me. I don't mind if I can see them. It's when I know they were there and then they're not that does my head in.
