I've bought him some D.V.D,s, C.D,s, a new Blue Ray d.v.d player/recorder, I really am at a loss some years what to buy him, I was looking at booking for use to go in a log cabin for Christmas, but we have my dad and the old lady from across the road round for dinner, so that's a none runner.

Many moons ago I bought some things from Ann *******. It seemed a good idea at the time and we had a good laugh. The problems began when the joke wore off and I wanted to dispose of them. I daren't put them out for the dustman

I'm right with you there Kirsty

It's the OH's 40th this year just beore christmas, and I thought I had something worth quite a bit of money which I was going to sell and get him tickets for the British GP. Unfortunately, I'd been misled and so if he's lucky, I might be able to get him a new mobile phone. If he's unlucky, it'll be a new address

I honestly have no idea, this year! If only there was some voucher scheme for old tractor/lorry bits, I'd be sorted, every year!

                Cheers

When our children were growing up we went through a very mean and lean time. We devoted our time and what little money we had to them. As the years went on we never returned to exchanging christmas gifts and we still only give 'token' ones at birthdays.

Or the man who doesn't have everything, but doesn't really want anything either? Our first married Christmas (30+ years ago) I bought him a wine making kit, he'd still be happy with that, but now probably has more wine-making stuff than the local brewing shop so that's pointless. He doesn't drink though so it's not as if I can get him some posh alcohol. All the other 'traditional' gifts for men are given to him by other family members, meaning that by this time every year I've usually started tearing my hair out. This year he lost/misplaced/had stolen his favourite lottie tool (a sort of cross between a machete and a golf club) it was the one thing which allowed him to take on and beat massive bramble patches without a second thought and I've finally found somewhere that stocks replacements, which wasn't easy as I hadn't a clue what they were called ('slashers' if anyone's interested, from Chillington tools) so he'll be getting one of those and for once I know he'll like it.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

A replacement ( but upgraded) brush strimmer for the field! ...and a few bits and bobs to unwrap.

( I have a sneaky feeling it'll half be my pressie too)

My OH would love to have a beehive (with bees obviously), so I might get him the Barefoot Beekeepers book.

or possibly the Self Sufficientish Bible:
                          Amazon.co.uk: self-sufficientish bible

or if he's been really good - maybe both!!

I think well thought out token presents are usually much nicer than big, expensive gifts which are bought for the sake of it. I'm horrified by how much some people spend on things they don't want / need just because they think they should

                            I've got that, it's good.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
