  • what paint for terracotta frogs

I have 3 little frogs, about 6 inch in size. I assume they are terracotta. I think I must have inherited them as I wouldn't normally buy something like that.
Or maybe the kids got them years ago.

Anyway, they are looking a bit forlorn and need a coat of paint.

What sort of paint would be recommended ?

    Thanks

Possibly but I was going to make them a bit gaudy.
The main question is what sort of paint for outdoors and water.

UV stabilised paint if they're going to be outside. Acrylic may be OK

I have used acrylic on madams terracotta pig (don't ask) that sits down the garden 5 years still good.

I use acrylic spray on painted stones.
It comes in clear or coloured.

I wouldn't paint them gaudy. I'd just stick to the natural frog colours

Masonry paint is great for non-porous outdoor surfaces. i use it for some of my bee hives, an aluminium water tank I turned into a plant pot, shed door... or use acrylic with a waterproof varnish.
