  • Well, wasn't that jolly

The weekend - how was yours?

Mine consisted of painting a porch, digging up spuds, missing Snowdrop - he was at RIAT as he is every year, sadly this year it was cancelled due to Glastonburyesque car parking areas.

We saw sunshine!! I harvested all my shallots today and Madmax finally managed to get the peas off the ground and back onto a support of types. Been so wet here that there was no chance of getting them upright before.

I've been poorly since Wednesday (fluey thing and lost my voice to boot), so spent the sunny weekend wrapped up in a blanket. We did get to the lottie today and harvested so much stuff we could barely carry the tub trug between us! And we had a lovely new table and chairs for the garden delivered, so we did a bit of flat pack instruction translation, and we've produced... a hovercraft (now that would be clever).

real shame about the airshow though. when I was in the 'force I got put on carpark duties for it, had best view of the planes taking off - can remember a Vulcan bomber taking off and thinking my ears/eyes/chest would explode from the vibration/noise. come to think of it it rained on that day as well

Lovely today, got very hot and bothered weeding the Lottie.

But, managed to attach a metal container to the back of my bike, thereby saving about £20 on the same size basket - so promptly went and filled up the container with lovely spuds. Then, had mashed potato for tea.

I've not felt at all well either this weekend - not sure wether it is flu or really bad hayfever - went to bed at 8 yesterday.

Worked saturday, as andi&di can vouch for, I went slightly dotty!!, then saturday evening took little one for a swim, and we both went to sleep at 7pm!! tired timboes.

Sunday, was bonkers up at 6, over the lottie till 11.30 when it really started to get to warm!. Then some food shopping in Aldis and Asda, then a tidy up around the back garden til 6, then went for a swim with the family. All home and littleun too bed then cooked for the week, homemade tomato sauce, precooked mince for spagbol, and shepherd pie, cauli and broccoli cheese, and a salmon and cod fish pie, along with the missus making a trifle with strawberries that were on offer in Asda 60p a punnet!!, some scones, and two loaves.

Now feeling a little burn't and sore of legs and arms, yaawwwnnn!
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I'm glad to be back at work, I can do with a rest.

Thursday (the new Friday) night dinner with LadyWaynes folks, Friday night cooked Mexican (BiL was supposed to help but turned up late so just fried steak strips whislt I had done everything else - not that I mind actually) for LWs family, went to bed late. Saturday chilled out a bit in the morning then got the guest room ready for next arrival (I think they call it turnover in the trade?), then LWs best friend arrived and we had takeaway, watched a film and chatted till the wee ours. Sunday morning I got up and down to the plot for about 8:30, LW sent me a text when breakfast was ready at 10:30. Had breakfast and said goodbye to LWs bestist bud. Then we went to Tescos for the weeks shopping. Got home, put the washing on the line that we'd put on before we went out, LW made a bread (brioche) and butter pudding then we went round to my folks for dinner. Had that, then popped in to see our God daughter on the way home (it's her birthday today), stayed there for a couple of hours. Got home, got the washing off the line, did the ironing for the week then went to bed.

                    It is Monday isn't it?
