  • We are off!

My sister, Dinah and I are off to Australia next Wednesday for a month We will stay with our brother and his family and have the loveliest of times. I do have the ab-dabs regarding the flight and the being away for so long and so far and, of course ,leaving Jim and the dogs for all that time.
As well, what with Jim's redundancy we may well have to say good-bye to our computer etc. so I may not "see" you all for a good while.
I wish you all love and good luck and big kisses to all the new babies (we have a new grand-child due in July) and I will, hopefully, be in touch again .

Oh polly you lucky thing, hope you have a REALLY good time in Oz. Be careful of the crocs, roos, spiders, brown snakes lol......

Sorry to hear of Jim's redundancy, hope things pick up soon for you.

Have a good flight and take GYO on the plane!

    Best wishes Mo xx

I have been five times to oz, (ex wife was an aussie) so I am very jealous of you, it really is a fantastic place, make sure you get to see all the sights.

ps try a cherry ripe, you can't get them here but I became addicted to them, and watch out for burgers with beetroot in them

Good luck, and have a great time Polly

I hope your computer doesn't have to go We debated long and hard about it when our income was slashed, but decided to cancel Sky and cut the mobile usage instead - I'd go into a decline without the internet

Hope to see you when you get back

Oh lucky you! Have a great time. You didn't say which coast? I have been to Sydney and Brisbane, and it was gorgeous. They ARE great hosts I agree. Curiously though they do seem to go to bed early... we were in a restaurant in Noosa, which is a touristy place, on a Friday night - and they were putting chairs on tables and shutting shop at 8.45pm. It seemed odd but that's the way they do things - they like to get up early though and seize the day so perhaps that's why.

Hope you have a great time with the family. Madmax fancies visiting Australia but I don't fancy that long a flight

don't give up the pooter - it is so useful for job-seeking as well as other stuff. We gave up Sky and I only spend a fiver a month on my mobile phone so I can keep the internet.

Here's hoping Jim gets a new job soon. Best of times

I'm sure you'll have a lovely time with the family, Polly. Hope the computer doesn't have to go. Maybe Corax can keep you in touch with us?

                          Bon Voyage!

We will be in Melbourne, fires are under control now. Oh, I am so glad about early bed, that was another thing I was worrying about. I'm an early to bed, rise at dawn person.
My sister-in law 'phoned today to say that the weather is cooling ,down to ten degrees at night (would that be centigrade though!!
My ab-dabs are such that I can't eat now so should be slim when I get there
Thank you for your good wishes, hope to be in touch soon.
