  • Watched any good films lately??

Well, i bought myself "Shutter Island" from Tesco last night.

Went to bed with Oh to watch it and fell asleep after 10 minutes. I enjoyed what i saw (will hopefully stay awake to see it tonight)

Anyway, just wondered what good films you have all watched recently. Are there any you would recommend?

    Thanks

    VM

Have you read the book? It's slightly less confusing than the film (OH didn't get the ending at all).

I haven't seen a good film for ages, but lots of bad ones. Mind you in the summer I'm busy with the garden until bedtime: I don't really start watching anything until the autumn. (I'm currently after the whole lot of Californication for my wet-weather viewing pleasure)

I have the same trouble VM, By the time I sit down to watch TV or a film I'm usually tired enough to fall asleep after 10 or 15 minutes.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...pretty accurate to the book, and nice to watch a film not filled with Hollywood glitz and airbrushed actors.

Would recommend - if you dont mind films with subtitles.

I wanted to see Shutter Island, so I'll be interested to see what you thought VM.

We watched 'The Wrestler' a few weeks ago, I thought it was wonderful although it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Mickey Rourke really did deserve an Oscar for that performance, it was filmed more like a documentary than fiction & some of it looked ad-libbed or at least played to perfection.

Watched Wonder Woman (Wonder Woman (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) the other night, well worth a look if you like that sort of thing. Also saw Kick-Ass (very violent but very good), and Solomon Kane (very like Conan in the good ways rather than the cheesy ones).

                        Loved Harry Brown (Michael Caine)
Hated Avatar (predictable Americain tripe and the graphics look like a pc game - really don't understand the hype about that at all)
Liked Shutter Island athough OH didn't get it at all!

We watch a movie every week on the projector at home, it's brill.

I can heartily recommend Toy Story 3 (whether you have kids or not!). It made me and Himself cry!
