  • Walking to Marrakech

I've accepted a sporting challenge to walk to Marrakech - this is 1409 miles, I did 3 of them first thing this morning so I may get there just in time for New Year's Eve (not sure which year!) in the souks

By mid week I should be in the duty free lounge of Luton Airport

I take it this is a virtual walk?

I think the location is virtual but the walk is real

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The walk is very real - the location, whilst real, is not real - erm, yes - well, you know.....

Oooh! Good luck! I have been thinking of doing one of these sort of things for a while, where I choose a place and 'get there' on bike/walking/running etc.

What a great idea - to set the target and keep track of your mileage. You have me thinking of giving myself a similar challenge (though smaller, I think).

                        Bon voyage.

It would be even better Piskie if you had a screen in front of you showing where you would actually be walking along if you were on the road instead of on the spot so to speak wouldn't it!
I went to Morocco on holiday about 30 years ago but didn't get any further than Agadir where we stayed, very hot, very dusty, full of camels, take lots of water with you Piskie!

What a wonderful idea! My daughter says she needs to walk more but that even taking a couple of my dogs with herfinds it tedious. (She gets the good dogs) An idea like this may make walking a bit more fun. In fact I may well start out on a trek of my own.
