  • too much work, too little time.

We are expecting Ofsted to come a calling any time soon, this might be the one that decides if we come out of special measures at long last.
I have reports to do, end of year FS profile reports to do, induction evening to arrange, transition for current reception peeps to work out, new class lists to do, records to finish for handover, sports day to practice for, ofsted, grant to apply for, circus school to arrange, displays to change, castle to build for role play, school fair to help arrange, work on plans for playground, and as well as that i need to find some time to teach.
Argggghhhhh, i am so tired, any tips on good quick fix energy boosters as need some short term fixes to get me to the end of term so i can collapse in summer hols.

I've been on the PTA at the Kiddies school for a couple of years and in January took the brave step to become a governor...until then I had no idea just how much there is involved in running a school....hope you've got a good team behind you.
At least there's only a few weeks left til the hols...if the OFSTED is before then, then Good uck.xxx

Not a good time then. Try and get as much sleep as you can, not easy I know. I am sure you have a good team behind you and try and offload some if you can. Call in some favours that parents could possibly help with. Maybe the building of castle and anything else. Anything like my daughters primary school though its always the same people that help.
Most of all good luck with ofstead.

I fully understand, I work in a school as well and there is sooooo much to do before the end of term including a SIP visit and most of the above for us. Do you have any teaching assistants that could help you? I try and write a priority list on the board and then tick them off as I do them, at least that way I can see I'm getting somewhere!!! Good luck with it all and especially Ofsted!!

Re team, have a couple of ta's that work in the unit, one is retiring next year and is really tired as not been well so looking after her and shouldering some of her work load, the other is very un confident and doesn't do anything unless you show her and to be honest it is quicker to do it yourself.
Have a good teacher i work with who started five weeks ago so inducting her so i am it!!
Re sleeping, if i sit still i fall asleep so that isn't a problem.
Stayed till late tonight to finish off a display and got one job i can tick off.
Penciled in this weekend to do reports so they will be finished come Monday.
          Profiles nearly done.
Head just handed me a chunk of the SEF to do today which happy to help but don't know when i will get the time.
Thank you for your support will plod on and it will all get done, cause it has to be.
Let you know how we get on when Ofsted come in which is any day soon.

No-one in the LA helping, Miffy? If you were in ours, I would be round! Some of our team have been known to move in when a school gets close to Ofsted coming.
As for keeping going - well I rely on the old standbys of caffeine and things like pro plus and red bull.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Do you not have a PTA Miffy?
I know the official stuff has to be done by you but surely the Fayre and Castle building....ie the fun bits on your list...could be handed over to PTA and you just oversee it.
If it's any consolation,a couple of weeks before ours we were all in a bit of a panic about it...(had a meeting where only five of us,including the Head turned up)it just didn't feel as prepared for as in previous years.Turned out great, loads of people attended and enjoyed and although exact figures aren't in,I think we made more money than last year.
