It is very exciting the prospect of extra space and a new kitchen.
We spent ages deciding what sort of kitchen we wanted. For some reason my suggestion of a ££££ coffee machine didn't go down very well.

Just finished having my new kitchen installed. Advice. Get loads of boxes and pack all your'e stuff away carefully and if possible label the boxes.
Be prepared to live with dust and dirt, but, it will be well worth it.
My kitchen is Aubergine and Cream and we are still finding our way around it.
We got a conservatory about 12 years ago and its one of the best things we ever invested in.
We don't use it so much in the summer as it tends to get too hot even though we have a tinted roof on, but we get great use in the spring and autumn.
Good luck and keep us posted.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

But a good quality coffee machine is essential!
I take it your "major objector" is now being fed supermarket value brand "coffee substitute" instead of quality coffee, just to emphasise this point?

        If not, why not?

I think his argument was the space to fit a proper machine (We'll ignore the fact it would have doubled the cost of the kitchen almost) was the room needed for a large number of my other kitchen gadgets which I would then be required to find alternative homes for.

He doesn't drink that much coffee so isn't bothered that much. I'd drink latte til I turned into a big ball of fluffy milk but it's hugely calorific to drink coffee that way so probably best overall if I don't have a built in milk frother.

I do have a jug milk frother, a filter machine, an expresso machine with steamer, several cafetieres.... and tbh I drink more instant than anything else through sheer laziness.

My correct argument would have been to get my company to pay for it ... bugger why didn't I think of that then?
