  • Some good news

    Heyo,

Things in life at the moment seem to be pretty bad, but instead of dwelling on those things I thought I would concentrate on the positive.

So quite awhile ago I found out that one of my friends from my new school had gotten pregnant. To be honest at the time I wasn't to thrilled as she told me when she was four months, and she told me on my birthday... and failed to wish me a happy birthday.

But never mind, look on the brightside they say. So I stuck by her, she was going through a lot, being 17 and pregnant in a school who didn't like her to begin with was tough for her.

She got a lot of hassle actually which I was disgusted with, because at my former school a girl got pregnant in year 9 and she got a lot of support.

But anyways, back to subject at hand, we became even better friends over the months where she needed friends the most. She carried on with school even with all the harships she faced, and I am really proud to call her my friend.

So last Monday I was sitting downstairs with my Mum when I got a text, from the Mum to be. She had been discussing with her boyfriend (also a good friend of mine,) and they have both decided that...

    Drum roll please

That I am going to be their child's Godmother!!!

To say I was happy at the news would be a understatement, I liturally screamed the house down, scaring my poor Mum who was sat next to me. I couldn't speak so I just showed her the text and ran upstairs to where my Dad was.

Still unable to speak I jumped up and down in front of him for awhile, probably making him think I am even more insane than he originally thought. Finally I was able to blurt it out, and he congratualated me.

I still think it is remarkable, I have only known my friend for just over a year and she thinks I am good enough to be her childs Godmother.

We don't know what gender the baby will be yet, as they want a surprise so I will have to wait to find out whether I will have to share with another Godmother or not. (If they have a girl then she will have two Godmothers)

What can I say, I am very selfish ^^

Congratulations to you, and your friend on the upcoming birth of her baby.
Your friend should be delighted to have a true friend in you.
Good luck on becoming a godmother.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Well done you. Your friend has had the good sense to note that you are not just a 'fair weather friend' and also has the nous to ensure you will look out for her baby too.
