  • Sleepless in Sheffield!

Having stayed awake all night waiting for our latest grandson to put in an appearance, I'd just given up and gone to bed when SIL pressed the panic button and I was dragged off to watch the birth. Baby finally arrived at 10.56am, very alert, eyes wide open and looking around. I've never seen a new baby quite so interested in his surroundings. His name is Alexander James, (Alex) which I love and which really suits him.
Our daughter is well and, of course, completely besotted. Though when I left the hospital to give the new Mum and Dad time alone with their new son she was still declaring to anyone who'd listen that he was going to be an only child!
I'm definitely going to go to sleep now though.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Congratulations from me too - our latest grandson arrived yesterday but tehy still haven't decided on a name. They already have Joseph and Toby but we have to wait for number 3's moniker.
Is this your first grand child? It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it. (I have to confess to being a bit jealous that you were there at the birth - Cornwall's rather a long way to travel, especially as Lizzy seems to have relatively short labours!)

                            Congrats again - Love Mary
