  • Sky hd ?

We have just bought a new TV, sky rang me with the offer of a HD box instead of the sky + we have. You have to pay for HD channels from what i gather is it worth it ?

    I have Sky hd

I assume your telly is HD ready or Full HD,most new ones are now

To be honest if you don't watch much sport I wouldnt bother getting it as at £10 per month its quite pricey when you consider how many channels are transmitted in HD

      pies

Normally pies, i switch off when they ring with offers, but our new tv is HD etc, not like our old one that weighed more than a small car ! but the guy on the phone confused me he spoke so fast he would have been better doing horse racing commentary ! he mentioned multi room as we have a sky+ box which i liked the sound of that so i could tape and watch what i wanted instead of been banned from recording ! by my hubby incase i take valuable memory up ! for him to record his motorbike racing ! i know multi room is a tenner but do i have to pay for hd channels aswell ? louise

If your new tv has freesat (as well as freeview) you should get hd channels. I think the bbc hd channel is free of charge on freesat.
We need to get a dish installed to receive freesat though - next on the list of things to do (but more £s needed).

I'm really impressed with the nature programmes in HD but I have Virginmedia not Sky.

HD isn't available on freeview yet.

We've got V+ which is the Virgin Media version of Sky+. To be honest I think the HD bit is totally overhyped but I love the easy to use hard disc recording which means I can record two channels while watching a third - why is it that there's nothing on 99% of the time but when there is it's all at the same time? Think Sky+ only allows you to record two channels and watch one of them rather than another but still pretty good.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
