  • Seed Potatoes And Onion Sets Already..?

Just come back from my local B&Q and they have an amazing selection of Seed Potatoes and Onion Sets already, every variety you can think of and racks of veg seed. They also had Rhubarb Crowns, Garlic, Asparagus, they seem to be well prepared for this grow your own thing. I was in my element and on my own...lol...anyway, I thought I would just mention it as a few members are from round here too, and if you have one in your area, give it a visit.

    Cheers

Thanks for the heads up, might have a look in my local store tomorrow.

Did you buy anything? If so what and how much?

Yeah, saw some in Homebase the other day. Had a quick look but didn't buy as I already have it under control with t'internet orders. Did think that the potato variety selection was better than for some years although didn't give them a squeeze to check if they were nice and firm so can't comment on quality.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The selection was very impressive and they were firm and good quality seed potatoes, not bad for B&Q...think they have got to grips with this grow your own thing..!

Hmmm, will reserve judgement on them fully getting to grips with it all until I've seen the state of their plants next spring! Think that you can probably get some decent bargains but you need to check them over well and hopefully get them as soon as they put things out as I'm not convinced that they store things very well. At least now they're at your home you can make sure they're stored to your satisfaction until you plant out.

I noticed this in one of the local garden centres, they are now back to being a proper GC and not a christmas grotto. Trouble is I spent a fortune.
