  • Saffron gin

    Anyone tried it?

Saw a bottle in my local Sainsburys, and whilst I love my gin, and I love saffron, not sure I want to punt £15 on an off chance that they'll work together.

Anyone with any experience of the stuff?

I was bitterly disappointed after splashing out on a bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin to discover it's not blue I should have looked more closely at the bottle.

I've not seen saffron gin - stupid question (but given my previous form on gin colours, just though I'd check ) - is it actually yellow?

So what's it like? Did you give in to temptation? (I like Irn Bru - sad eh?)

No, haven't yet, but made a risotto for dinner tonight with saffron and butternut squash. Yep. I still like saffron...

Might give it a go when the Bombay runs dry.

Wonder if we can make our own . I've got loadsa saffron. The amount needed for what I make it will take two lifetimes to use it all .
