- I understand that no advice given here has any legal basis - but just for fun does anyone know if a non-professional needs public liability insurance? Hypothetically my allotment site is considering cutting the outside of the perimeter hedge themselves. Lack of PLI is putting the committee off, but from my reading of things PLI is only available to a professional/business rather than some rank amateur 
One wouldn't want to slice an dogwalker or their canine in two without proper insurance...
