  • Problems uploading photos

I have tried several times to put some photos on the Vine without success, I have removed a couple of computer uploads to see if it was them causing the problem, but no difference. Has anyone else experienced this problem, I am trying to load the photos from my computer, which I have done in the past with no problems
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Perhaps the images are too big. I think there is a 2MB limit and my phone usually takes a picture that is 8MB plus progress and all that.

From your computer you can use Microsoft picture manager & resize the photos to 800 x 600 this size works.

Can you right click on the photo you're trying to upload (or just hover over it with the cursor) and view the properties? It should tell you the size in megabytes?

Are you on a PC or a Mac?

set your phone and/or camera pic size to 640x480Jpg and upload to windows live, from there to the vine, you shouldnt have any prob's. Works OK for me.

We must be supportive of rary - he's old and forgetful. He posted one photo and immediately forgot how as he couldn't post a 2nd one.
All of us young ones are happy to help you, rary, don't be embarrassed.

^^^ That doesn't scare me as you can't upload them.

I'll try to be helpful now.......................

Most of my photos are taken on a camera and transferred to the computer (Windows). The size doesn't need editing to post on the Vine.

However, sometimes I'm sent photos taken on a phone which are photo-synced to my computer. These are always too large to post here and have to be "Resized".
Windows Picture Manager has a selection of Editing options, including "Resize".
I select the "Predefined width x height" and, from the dropdown box (Document Large"
                      Then Save it, of course!
It loads on the Vine, no problem.

                      Hope it helps

I used to load photos on to my computer to up load to the vine but I have found an easier way!

My photos are taken with my phone. I have an app called 'Photo and Picture resizer' on my phone. Any I want to upload I just open in the resizer app and select the dimension to 1836 X 1033 (75%).
Once plugged into computer it is easy to add a photo as an attachement using the manage attachments button direct from the phone. I then just search for the folder 'Resized photos' on the linked phone and download the photo I need.

Rary. It doesn't work for me and I have tried everything.
My OH and my grandson have also tried and they both failed.

Thanks for the advice folks, but still unable to upload, I don't use apps on my phone its used for calls and photos only, as I don't want the bother with all the add-ons, I put all the photos onto the computer and in the past they loaded no problem, recently I had to replace the server? anyway I,reloaded Google on my computer and since that I have had problems, I am not very interested in computers, therefore a lot of the technical stuff is double Dutch to me (I try to live life the same way VC would have when she was the age I am now, of course that was many years ago) I think I will remove Google and try again and should have added its windows I use
