)place over spidey then carefully slide a piece of paper under glass turn upside down! ( NO, NOT YOU, THE GLASS

) Caught 1 spidey take outside and release.

yeah but if it's really big, the pint glass won't fit, and it's legs that are under the rim will chuck the glass off, and then it will run up your arm

i think you should climb out the window, and go and get a pest control firm in, and go and stay in a hotel, till it's certified safe

unless you can be dead bwave and go and get the hoover, but make sure you suck it's harley, leather jacket and pit bull up too ..... or it will come back out to get them.

Get a spider sucker, It's like a gun with about 2ft of see-through pipe, battery operated so you can press the switch, hold it over the spider and the vacuum safely sucks up the spider in the tube, you can put the cap on the end and then take the spider outside to release. It works for wasps and other flying horrors as well.
I've been a bit put off of the pint glass method after trying to get to one v large spider before the cats did and in my hurry hurt the poor spider and felt very guilty about ejecting a limping spider who'd done nothing wrong - just run up against my fear.

see that's where I went wrong when I first used this method (Snowdrop was playing at sandpits in Iraq at the time!) ....I turned my pint glass on to her and she sat washing it off for ages - she returns every Friday night, even brings her mates on Saturday nights

I love spiders, so can't really help you, here. I think I've got the entire litter of babies from a nest I found with hatchlings in during the summer. Mind you, there's rarely any flies in my house!

I get the neighbour round if they are big and OH not around. Have had 2 lots of therapy and am still terrified. There is no way I would still be in the house still if there was a big one under my chair - eeeek

I haven't been in the downstairs loo for 6 weeks as OH missed the big one I discovered. I even taped the door up so it couldn't get out. Why is is ALWAYS me who finds them? I must have a 6th sense for them.

If they are not too big (ie less that 50p size) I can hoover them up.

I use the glass and post-card trick for spiders now. However, in my early married life I found a HUGE spider on the landing. I put a bucket over it. When Himself came in he asked why there was a bucket with a pair of hiking boots on top on the landing. I said I didn't want it to lever up the bucket and get out again!

LOL been there done that, back before I hade the kids I even barricaded myself in the bathroom, and put towels round the dorr so it could't get in, and waited four hours for my OH to get home and dipose of it.

since the kids, I can't show them my fear, so we have a pint glass and postcard in every room in the house, if anyone spots a spider, they have to stay there and watch it whilst shouting for help

, and as everyone knows where the glasses are, we never have to go hunting for equipment.

the closest i've ever come to the glass thing, is putting one over if they are stood verrrrry still ..... unfortunately, they usually suffocate before anyone comes round to get rid of them

You see, i have one of these, my mum bought me one for xmas - however, for me it needs to have a six foot extension on the tube as i just can't bare to get that close to them!!
