  • Omg!

I've just driven past a house with a huge Christmas tree in their front window!
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Maybe they just think they are spreading joy to mankind. Personally. if I were Father Christmas I would also tell them where to stick it.

Good grief- that's even too early for me!!

....the tree'll be dead in 2-3 weeks- they must either be intending to buy at least one replacement one...or....they're off to somewhere for Xmas who don't celebrate Xmas and just fitting in a 'feel good factor' before Xmas????

It just gets more ridiculous, it's only November for God's sake. Is bad enough that the tacky town ones are on but this is at least a month too early!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I drove past a house today and the outside was covered, on both sides that were visible from the road in lit-up Christmas decorations. I think it's far too early yet for that. Christmas decorations shouldn't go up until at least the start of December!

I have to agree Alison, although I'm a self confessed 'Christmasaholic', this is far too early for me too. I don't put my decs up until the week before Christmas (and occasionally not until Christmas eve).

There is a house near us with the outside already decorated up to within an inch of it's life. Am surprised planes haven't landed on their roof! No idea what their electricity bill will be like!

I'm a bit of a Christmasaholic too, PB, and I think a large part of the fun is because it's such a rare event, if someone puts up decorations in mid-November and doesn't take them down until twelfth night then they're spending an eighth of their life celebrating Christmas, which is nearly the equivalent of one day a week. It would become boring. So much better to wait a while then really go for it.

Xmas decs are so jolly, so positive, so jolly, so life-affirming ...but would you celebrate your OWN birthday for 7 or 8 weeks?

Probably not - but I do like to stretch it to about a week LOL

Thats really a bit too early but I wish that the large stores would at least keep the decortions etc up until Christmas and not start with the sales before the children have had a chance to celebrate Christmas. I can remember it was a treat being taken on Christmas eve to see all the stores decorated.
