  • OH on the Plot

Mrs NOG has decided that she would "help" me at the allotment. I think that she was trying to keep an eye on me and make sure I did not do too much.

I was doing a bit of tidying up and I asked her to plant 5 Rasberry plants. In a line a spade lenght apart. With wood chips round them to prevent weeds.

Well I how have a box of five plants about a trowles lengh apart and half the plot covered in wood chips.

Tomorrow I have to go upthere and replant them and recover all the chips.......

OH is fab when it comes to heavy work (today he dug me 1.5 10' x 4' beds in the time it took me to do half one!) but has no idea about plants so doesn't go there. He enjoys the harvesting and eating though!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Yeah, same here story here. If I want dirt dug, he's the man. But otherwise, I have to keep more of an eye on him than my 2 year old daughter. Last year, I let him have the weed whacker to cut away some of the grass on the unused part of my plot. He was going at it well and then commented how well it even cut through some of the thicker twiggy stuff. The twiggy stuff were recently planted raspberry canes.

Lol, Mr C came to 'do some digging' at the plot yesterday and yes he did it in half the time I could. I gave him a sticker from my school collection, it said, 'You dig, I grow!) He didn't look impressed, don't know why?

Ouch - hope you weren't too hard on him! At least he's good at baby-sitting enabling you the freedom to meet us all at Wisley!

I prefer "A woman A dog and A walnut tree, the more you beat them the better thy be.

She made a lovely stew tonigh and I gave her 9/10 for it. I told her she lost 1 point for no dumplings....she then argued that there were dumplings..till boy sam found them in the fridge..

So there were dumplings just not in the stew.
