  • Music/Computer Genius Urgently Required

So are any Grapes geniuses? Mr Frosty likes playing his guitars. If he wants to record his music and send it as an mp3 via email to friends, he uses Audacity to record then Bonc as the mp3 encoder. The problem is Bonc is complicated and Mr Frosty is struggling. Does anyone know of software that allows you to record music and is also an mp3 encoder but more importantly is user friendly (and doesn't make me choke on my coffee when I hear the price)

Alternatively has anyone got a gadget (thingy) called "Line6 Pocket Pod Express" - instructions are useless (and teeny, tiny print) the photos suggest you can plug in your mp3 player. Can you use this to record direct onto your mp3 player?

I'm afraid when Mr Frosty asks me any questions my eyes glaze over So can anyone help?

I asked my partner how he does it.

Records in Audacity, drag the mouse to select everything [or part] of what he's recorded, then go to file, then either 'Export as Mp3' or 'Export as wav' depending on what quality you want.

Thanks Taff, I seem to remember Mr F mentioning wav. Seems everyone uses Audacity. Mr F wants something realy easy and simple - maybe a bit more practice using Audacity might help.
