    Hi,
    any grapes live nearby? we're off on our hols in a couple of weeks, I know about the markets but are there any local walks/country parks/gardens/woods nearby worth a venture?

      we aprox 14 miles away,you got the old pork pie shop,in melton,a lovely quaint place,often been,if you google melton,and put in things to do,whats around ext,it will come up with whats on offer,
      sigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these

        Rutland water not to far away either. we only 8 miles away.

          Barnsdale gardens are near Oakham. A must for a visit if you were ever a fan of Geoff Hamilton - now run by his son - 8 acres of garden styles and planting schemes.

            I was going to mention that too - used to sail there as a kid and have cycled round it a couple of times with OH.

            Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                  thanks for the ideas folks, Melton country park looks just the ticket!!! not long now 2 weeks yea Oh and Barnsdale didn't realise it was close,Mr W will be going for definate!
