This had been in the cavities, and the roof, but there it was large as life in the bladdy lounge.

It saw me looking at it and obviously thought 'Oops' and popped back in its hole. The hole, and most of the cavity has now been filled with squirty foam!

Squirty foam will only be a temporary fix as the little blighters can eat through it as we found out when we had the great mices invasion!!

The only way to get rid of rats permanently is to remove whatever is attracting them there, its usually food but could be a nice home

No idea what attracted it, maybe it was just that it's so wet outside. It was a juvenile, so hopefully it's Mum has told it off, and that'll be the end of it, but we'll see!

Thanks for the piccy Bren - it wasn't that cute!

Having had animals all my life, I'm sorry to say I'm used to them. We have fields in three directions, so they are a common sight (along with bladdy Pigeons and Wabbits Grrr). Just didn't expect to see one in the bladdy house. Can't smell anything untoward, so may have been a first visit. I hope!

I would also have jumped, and then cried and been unable to move. Have an absolute pathalogical phobia of the flippin things, which didnt do me not no good at all when one ran over my flipflopped foot this summer near the compost heap!!

We've got mice, heard them last night squeaking their heads off in the loft or possibly the bedroom floor, I think His Lordship will need to get baiting cause it sounds like too many for humane traps.... AGAIN We've got rats in the yard, the rat bait is in the feed room

Heard a bit of scratching in the ceiling last night, but that's it so far. I'm guessing it waited for the departure of my lovely dog before coming to 'visit'

I've got a friend with a couple of Rat Russells, I may borrow them if it comes back
