  • Kindle Experts! Please advise!

Just got very excited while on Amazon as they have produced three kindle books which I have been after for some time. I've bought all three and received emails to tell me that my purchases were successful, but... THEY HAVEN'T APPEARED ON MY KINDLE HOMEPAGE!!! I haven't had a problem before- usually titles appear within a minute or so of buying them. Am I looking in the right place??? Has the slippery slope into senility just tilted a little bit more???
Have emailed Amazon - awaiting response, but if anyone can give me a pointer or two...

Have you got wireless turned off on your kindle by any chance?

It's usually that the wireless is switched off.

^^^ yes, if you bought them on your computer and not direct from your Kindle, maybe wireless connection was off - they should download when you connect.

otherwise, is your home page set up to put newest books first? If not, the new books may be on the next page, if you've got quite a big list.

Me and Mr Z have one each and I always forget to get mine to 'deliver to Z's Kindle' when I buy books so they go to his and I always have to go and redeliver to mine. It doesn't help that I've also got Kindle reader on the mac so there are 3 places it could be delivered to. So if you have more than one reader, it could be that.

I'll be it's the wireless though. Always trips me up.

It's worth having a look at your Kindle account on Amazon and seeing if they are there. If so you can dowload them again and see what happens.

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

After a fraught evening desperately trying to get wireless connection, I gave up and stomped off to bed.
Don't know the whys, wherefore, or wtf, but the " connectivity issues" my home hub was experiencing have resolved themselves (without any help from me!) and my books have been safely delivered. Now the question is, do I press on with David Copperfield - which can be a bit "wordy" and heavy going for my liking - or plunge straight into Number 1 of my new trilogy????

But you are REE-E-E-EAAL-L-LYYY clever. I'm convinced that every now and then a Computer Gremlin shuffles the letters on my key-board! (Where's "A"???? Where's "A"????....)

I usually have about 3 books on the go at any time depending on what mood I'm in, something trashy for when I'm tired, heavy lit for when I'm feeling brainy and an inbetween for normal times. Always have done this and the kindle doesn't half help as I don't have to carry several books wherever I go now

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
