The Daily Express seems to wheel this story out every year. They've not been right yet. Of course, there's always a first time...

Do you think Cariann's loom can make big, bouncy woolly knickers? If so I will put an order in.

We do tend to get colder winters when El Nino pops up though, don't we?

And just for once, if we're going to have lots of snow, please can it be enough to prevent me getting to work? Usually it's enough to make driving tricky, but the salt spreaders clear the roads enough. I want the roads to be impassable.

If it's worth snowing, it's worth snowing well, please. At least 12". Please.

The trouble is, here in the middle of the Midlands, the skies empty of snow before it gets to us, from the north, it's all over the Pennines, from the west it gets dumped on the Welsh hills, from the south the moors and downs get it all, and from the east, it has so far to come that it gives up before getting here!

Just remember if you get what you wish for that's the time your boiler will break down and with the roads blocked the engineer will not be calling today!!!

Thing is they say this every year that we are going to get a dry, hot summer and get ready for hose pipe bans. Then its going to be the worse winter for 50+ years.
I'm not a snow person. It brings the idiots on the road, the ice everywhere, people panic buying and I have to put the heating on.
Will just have to wait and see me thinks.

Well, if it does snow like it says, then I'm looking forward to some exciting entries in the Snowman competition this year!

IF it was that bad,all the power lines would be hit,so no way to post the pics, thats if peeps are warm and strong enough to go out in it,a bit is fine to kill of some nasties, but think of those that rely on peeps like our Carrie, and poor Carrie cannot get to them,

                            Very true lottie

During the very heavy snows in the early 80's I had to walk right the way across Cardiff on top of at least 2 ft of compact snow ( in parts the snow had drifted so much that cars were totally covered and almost to the tops of front doors) to be able to get to work at the nearest intensive care unit. ( not where I worked)
I was the only one who made it in for several hours apart from a few students!

Very worrying times for about 3 days.

Hospital staff at that time were allowed to take 'snow days' as paid leave!

I best start getting looming then to make enough for everyone!
