  • Job Loss

My second son and his gf dont seem to be able to keep their full time jobs for very long. Son had full time job, gf part time but wanted full time. Gf finds full time job, son looses his job but after a while on the dole found part time job and after a while found full time job on minimum wage. GF is a manager at Threashers and of course she will be out of a job as soon as stock is gone which will be very soon as 40% off it will fly out the door. They always struggle, it seems as though if one is in work the other looses theirs. This has been going on over the last few years, they are both good at their jobs and work hard, its when companys go bust they loose out. So frustrating.

It is very frustrating and is largely caused by the new market economy. I remember the days when once you got a job it was for life, but not anymore. I don't want to turn this into a political debate. I think that whichever Govt. is in office the same thing happens. I know that one of my grandsons got 3 jobs in a row where he was promised a decent living if he got through a 6 month trial at minimum wage. In each case he was made 'redundant' right on the 6 months. But the 4th one he tried was a genuine employer and he has now been with them for 3 years on a proper wage. So all your son and GF can do is not to give up and when they get a set-back (and they will) - pick themselves up, brush themselves down and start all over again. Sorry - there is no 'singing' smily
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
