  • Jamies 30 min meals

I am so suprised no body has deemed to comment, I am not a great fan but apart from the £50 fillet of beef roast dinner I have thought he has come up with some very good meals.

Weekdays 5.30 I think - a weird time (I think!). There has been some nice food, but not sure if I could do it in 30mins.

Not keen myself. I think if you are going to cook a meal in such a short time it would be because you are in a hurry. The meals he cooks are the things you would do for a dinner party where you would take time and savour the experience.

I've actually bought the book (after thinking "no way" with a quick flick through) since seeing the show and trying one of the recipes. I figure I will use it to cook a nice meal for me and hubby once in a while, plus some of them appear to be quite reasonable for main course meals (tried the sausage one using the food processor).

I am not finding him quite as irritating on screen as I did last series either for some reason (not sure if I should worry? ).

I think he is going a great way to showing these people that are overwhelmed with the thought of cooking that it is not that hard to do

I am going to do the new spuds (that he did with the steak buttie) for our Sunday dinner.

I am going to do the roast but with chicken breast on Sunday as I am home alone still enjoy a roast even if its just for one, so 30 mins sounds good to me, more time at the lottie

I bought his "Ministry of Food" book and absolutely LOVE it! I'm not a very accomplished cook but I'm trying to get better, and that book explains so many basic things - plus I do like a lot of the recipes.

The Book People were at my work the other day and I bought the "30 minute" book reduced to a tenner for myself, but ended up giving it to my mother-in-law for a present at the last minute. I'll have a look at the programme though, and if it's any good I might buy another copy!

I'm impressed...I'm so lucky I don't live alone or I think my meals would only ever consist of chocolate
I don't mind cooking for others but couldn't be bothered if it was just me.

I've only caught one episode(it clashes with Neighbours)...will probably end up buying the book for Daisy(he's her second crush after JLS)but I'm never convinced by the twenty/thirty minute meals...all very well if you can chop an onion in 5 seconds and leave the mess for stage crew to clean up...real world though...?

My dinners are more like 10 min meals, but then I do tend to eat just vegetables & shelly beans (10 min boil & then a dash of salad dressing).

Mr TS's meals take a bit longer, but tend to be 1 pot jobbies like casserole that, apart from the chopping, cook themselves. Occasionally I'll make a roast dinner or something, but tbh it takes 2 hours to cook and 2 mins to eat. That's just not efficient in my book

The WhSmith Privilege Club (online through their website) is giving out vouchers at the moment when you sign up for an online account (free). One of these vouchers is £5 off any book over £10. They are currently selling the 30 Minute Meals book for £13, so this is a nice buy when it goes down to £8.
