  • It's so cold!!!!

It's horrible!!!! Why is the countryside so cold!!!!!!!!!!!23245y0trgfvh!!)74"£$%

One of the only things I miss about moving out of London is the extra warmth the M11 gave me, being just 300m from my window. Mmmm, motorway warmth how I long for it now

Is it an old house ? We used to have to keep our heating on low constantly cos once the house got cold it took forever to warm up. Now we've got a dehumidifier and it seems a lot better.

I agree with Buzzingtalk - I live in an old cottage and it's damp and freezing. Plus the Met Office reckon it's going to get colder - I can see me either staying in bed all day or bringing the duvet downstairs. I can cope with cold but this rain and damp and dark is really getting me down.

I think damp is worse than cold cos it gets in your bones.........I'd rather wrap and go out on a cold dry frosty day than a miserable damp one any day.....

Yeah an old house with sash windows and no double glazing, plus draft central in my bedroom as I live in the loft. I hoestly have never been so cold in a house before, its a shame becuase this house is lovely but 2 crap things about it are the cold and damp (worst in my room as central heating gives up before it gets all the way up to my room!) and the lack of a garden. Its an awesome house though, and really really cheap so it balances out. I have a gas heater thing but it costs LOADS to put on, I'm tryin to figure out if I'm a lightweight when it comes to cold but I've decided, even if I am, I don't care.

              Come on heater!!

I agree, tonight is really biting cold. We stopped off at Tesco on the way home from Leeds tonight, and I was shivering inside the store

How about one of those halogen heaters that small shopkeepers often have behind their counter?

This cold won't be liked by the government with all the "extra" winter fuel payments.
The extra cash is always useful.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Indulge in a nice warm bubble bath. That's what I do when I'm chilled to the bone; sometimes it seems the only way to defrost.

Cold? I'm finding my hot flushes are keeping me toasty at the moment!

I'm also a fan of my B*rbour Polartec Fleece Jumpers, which I bought, second-hand, from eBay. I don't even have the heating on half the day when I'm wearing one of those, and we're in a portable building!

I've got 2 pairs of socks, two cardi's, a t-shirt and a scarf wrapped round my neck. I'm toasty, but my feet are still cold

Well I am in S London (just back from the North) and it is freezing. I think it is pretty much every where and going to get worse!

The thermo says 20c in here, but my nose and fingers are stone cold and my back is stiffening up. Hot bath and bed I think
