    I'm going to collect a new kitty!!!

    Well, an old kitty really. Her name is Sandy and she's 16, deaf and arthritic. No-one will adopt her, so I'm going to give her a go. I do seem to be drawn to the oldies. She'll never replace my beloved one-eared, no tail cat, but helping other cats is the best therapy for me. I just hope Rosco, my other cat, forgives me when I get home!!
    It's taken me 7 months to adopt another, it hurt so much losing Cleetus, but if I can help another, it's worth it.

      What a lovely cat - and a lovely thing to do. You have a lot of love and courage to take on a cat that age.

          I know, Jules. I might have to change her name to something a little more redneck. What was the Grandmother called in Beverley Hillbillies? Maybe that would be better!

              We're collecting our two new kittens on Saturday. Taken ages to find any. We lost our old lady in January and due to the fact she was diabetic for the last 18 months, caring for her was quite a full time job. Well done for being brave enough to take on an older cat. I didn't feel ready to go down that route again, hence kittens. She looks lovely. Our first cat was a ginger female.

                We lost our eldest cat last Christmas Eve. Had to make the decision. Honeybunny was the tiniest ginger cat you've ever seen, but produced six kittens - sadly she outlived three of them - Ellie, Harry & Fred.

                  Such a lovely photo memory. Eldest son is keen photographer and Nellie a willing subject. Some of his best photos were taken after she had been very poorly with diabetes but was gradually recovering.

                    Awwww shucks! I'm missing my Puddy-tat now. I've promised myself as soon as we move I'm getting another. I've always wanted a Ginger, and I love Tabbies, so I may just have to have two...

                      She's beautiful, SL, gorgeous eyes! When my old lady became deaf, she would howl if she wanted to know where I was in the house, and whatever room I was in, I'd flick the light switch on and off a few times. She'd see the flashes and come running. Of course that doesn't work quite so well in bright sunshine, but then in bright sunshine she would usually be stretched out asleep on a sun-warmed patch of carpet.

                        How lovely, I'm sure she'll settle very well with you. I would love to home a cat
                        from someone who has had to go residential care and not allowed to take their their cat.that is such a sad situation, but happens all the time. One day.

                          Im missing my old cats too one was ginger, my favourite colour, one torti & a black - couldnt bring another in with His Lordship though (hes tabby)!

                          Sluglobber - she is a beautiful cat & am sure she will settle quickly, well done you for taking on an older cat,

                              She is beautiful SL. We have quite a few rescue pets and somehow we're always drawn to the less 'perfect' ones. I bet Sandy will reward you just as much as you reward her.
