  • I love Skips...

Went to a well known garden centre today to buy some potting compost.
    Ended up spending £45.00!

Had a look at the plastic pots..to expensive.

On the way out I saw a skip...

Had a look see..it was full of plant trays and plastic pots of all sizes.
Went back inside the garden centre asked if I could have some of the contents of the skip.

The manager says ..take as much as you want!!

That should really be a letter to Head Office.
Can't they employ a lad to wash up and re-sell those pots?

One of our garden centres has two outside in the car park and today I helped myself to loads of pots, saves me buying them. Anybody can add to it or take them away.

We've had a skip outside for two weeks now - someone finally came to collect it after I nearly begged them (we'd only ordered it for one day!). Half of Sheffield has been through it, and as it was full when we'd finished, and it was taken away half empty (even with next door's carpet in it); quite a lot has been recycled!

Wyvale have a pot recycling bin where you can help yourself.

I put a box of stuff outside the house last weekend with a sign on saying take waht you want. Came home to find nothing had been touched. Except the double glased ali door I had for the rebuild of the garage was gone.....oh well.

Where my son lived in London there was an area at the end of his road where people took their unwanted items and whoever wanted them took them home. I thought that was a good idea. My son still has a lovely bicycle someone left there.
