  • I just love EBay

Friday morning I had 10 minutes to spare before going to work and went onto EBay.

Clicked on gardens, then sorted by distance nearest to see what was on the locally. Saw advertised approximately 20-25 rockery stones, some are quite big. No bids, finishing in 11 hours, starting bid £5.

Thought OH wanted some more stones and they are only up the road from us.

Came home that evening, loaded all my plants we have been growing for the lottie onto my car and dropped them down the allotments as rain was forecast for Saturday and then I would be able to get the car round the site.

Came home and then suddenly remebered the stones.

Showed OH, only 1/2 hour left on the bidding and one bid now.

OH said yes they were what she would like, so placed a bid of £15.

    Got them for £10.75.

Yesterday the seller rang me and I went round there to collect them.

Now in the picture it did not look like a big pile of stones and some of them I could hardly carry but loaded them all on the car and set off gingerly for home.

Neighbour opposite said "Steve could you do me a favour and unload some stones for me that I've just bought", "I've just bought some stones myself, I'll unload your first then".

She said no do your own first but I explained that after unloading mine, I probably wouldn't have the energy to do hers.

So off loaded and positioned up her 8 bags of stones and then started walking all my rocks through to the back garden.

Turned out to be 38 rocks a bit bigger than those you get from the garden centres and 6 heavyweight sods plus some smaller rocks for infill.

    I just love EBAY.
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

I had to be careful with some because as they were weathered rocks, some had really nice moss growing on them and didn't want to damage it.
