  • HSL orphans

I got my list of "orphan" vegetables from the HSL yesterday. I'm leaning towards dwarf French bean 'Vermont Cranberry' and pea 'Chibby's Wonder.' Anyone else made their decisions yet?

I'm really wanting to try Buffalo Horn tomato...and might try a radish again as I don't like them so it makes it easier to save just for HSL.

I already have Vermont Cranberry - lovely dried bean, fabulous colour. I fancied Chibby's Wonder myself - we had a cockatiel called Chibby - after The Gentle Chibiabos (Hiawatha's friend, the sweetest of all singers. Didn't work, the beggar sqwawked like a creaking gate, bless him!)

'Chibby's Wonder'...I just think the name is really funny...I think I'm easily amused.

Mr Flum says I buy things by the name - he thinks I'm unusual in this - I think there are loads of us!
